Yesterday was a productive day filled with market prep, a little thrifting, and even a great lunch stop along the way. I'm still in the Spending Money Stage of becomeing a Market Vendor and NOT in the Making Money Stage yet, LOL!!!
We started the day by running a few errands to pick up supplies for the upcoming market. One of the things on my list was white paint so I could touch up the pegboard displays I recently bought on Facebook Marketplace. I also picked up a necklace display secondhand that was originally brown, but I plan to repaint it white so everything has a more cohesive look at my booth.

Unfortunately, Menards didn’t have the pegboard hooks I was hoping to find, so it looks like those will need to be ordered from Amazon instead.
While we were out, I managed to score a couple of fun thrift finds. I found a wooden easel that will be perfect for displaying one of my signs at the booth, and I also picked up a fabric remnant that might end up being incorporated into my table display somehow. I’m still playing around with ideas, but I love finding little pieces like this that add character.
We also made a stop at Hobby Lobby where I picked up some wood-look tablecloths, a mirror, and a few odds and ends to help with packaging. All of these small details help make the booth feel more polished and inviting.
Before heading home, we stopped for lunch at RibCrib. I was excited to see that they offer a gluten-free bun option, which meant I could actually enjoy a sandwich. If you’re someone who also deals with a “funny tummy,” it’s definitely a good option to know about. I ordered the Pigman sandwich with a side of baked beans and it was delicious. The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for extra pickles...but that’s just me! The Hubs enjoyed his Roughneck Sandwich and we left feeling full.
While we were out, I got great news that another vendor signed up! Someone had suggested her and I reached out in the morning before we headed into town. It's ALWAYS a little unnerving to messege someone completly out of the blue.....I always hope they don't think "Who is this crazy person?". I'm super excited to annnounce that Berry Nice Sweet Treats will be joing us! Get more info HERE.
Once I got home, I dove back into market prep. I spent some time working on packaging and branding, which is something I’m really excited about right now. I also created 10 new leather bracelets featuring fun western-boho charms, along with two leather cord necklaces with adorable western-style pendants.

One thing I’m really excited about for Hippie Stitches is offering a variety of products that all share the same western-boho vibe. Crochet will absolutely remain the star of the show, but it’s fun to add complementary pieces that fit the same aesthetic.
I also continued refining my SKU system and received the Square device I ordered, which means I’ll be able to process credit cards at the market. That’s a big step forward and should make checkout much easier for shoppers. I also got my Hippie Stitches business cards in the mail. I designed them on canva and ordered them on Snapfish. It was the best price I could find at the time I was ordering. I hope you like them!
To wrap up the day, I started working on a brand new virus shawl for the market. With this one, I’ll have three shawls ready for the booth. With a March blizzard in full swing I shouls be able to get even more progress on it today.
I’ll be sharing more details about that project in the next blog post, so stay tuned!
