A Floral Trucker Hat Inspired by A Summer Market

One of my favorite things about attending local markets is how inspiring they can be creatively. Every event has its own personality, and after spending Saturday at Cedardale Farm Dahlia Mother's Day Market , I came home completely inspired to make something floral, summery, and just a little bit different. So naturally… I grabbed yarn. This latest experiment turned into a crochet floral trucker hat featuring a handmade rosette flower in soft red, white, and blue tones. It has a slightly vintage, cottagecore feel while still giving a subtle patriotic summer vibe... perfect for the Wright County Fair , Festival , The Farmers Market , and all the small-town summer events coming up soon. Inspired by Local Summer Markets This recent market was much smaller and more relaxed than some of the larger event I’d participated in recently, but honestly, that made it really special. I loved meeting other vendors, chatting with shoppers, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the flower f...

A Little Birthday Gratitude… and What It Means for Upcoming Market Pieces

This year, my birthday was simple, joyful, and full of the kind of moments that really stick with you… good laughs, thoughtful surprises, and time with people who mean a lot to me. And like most things in my life… it circled right back to yarn. I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what I’ve been working on and how it will shape the pieces you’ll start seeing at upcoming markets. Thoughtful Gifts & Handmade Details One of the most special gifts I received this year was a handmade crochet hook from a dear friend . Click here for more info on this hook! It’s beautifully crafted, a little more substantial in your hand than a typical hook, and designed with the kind of care that reminds me why handmade matters so much. A HUGE shout out to Sweetpea Cyd's Inspirations! That same intention is something I carry into every piece I make for Hippie Stitches - taking the time to choose materials, colors, and textures that feel good, look beautiful, and last. Choo...

A Peek at What I’m Bringing to the Market This Weekend

There’s something really special about preparing for a market. It’s a mix of excitement, creativity, and, if I’m being honest, a little bit of last-minute scrambling too. This week has been full, and while I had every intention of sharing these pieces ahead of time, I found myself simply needing to be in the making instead. And maybe that’s kind of the point. Because every piece I’m bringing with me this weekend was created slowly, intentionally, and with so much care. Click for market details! Handmade with Meaning This particular market is centered around Mother’s Day, and while these pieces aren’t just for moms, I really leaned into the idea of creating something that feels a little more special… a little more thoughtful. The kind of items you gift when you want someone to feel seen, appreciated, and wrapped in love. The Pieces I’ll Have Available Gradient Crochet Shawls These shawls are truly something special. Made using a delicate gradient yarn and worked in a virus...
