BTS: Getting Ready for the Hippie Stitches Market Debut

I am having so much fun getting ready for the very first Hippie Stitches vendor market… and at the same time, I’m learning as I go.

This is my first market, which means I don’t have everything perfectly figured out and honestly, I’m okay with that.

Because this isn’t just about setting up a booth.
It’s about creating a space that feels like Hippie Stitches in real life.

So I wanted to take you behind the scenes and share how I’m bringing that vision together.

Creating a Booth That Feels Like You

When I started planning, I didn’t begin with products or displays.

I started with a feeling.

Hippie Stitches is for:

  • country girls

  • free spirits

  • lovers of vintage, boho, and western style

  • women who aren’t afraid of a little turquoise, a little texture, and a lot of personality

Every piece I’m bringing - whether it’s apparel, accessories, or vintage finds - is curated with that woman in mind.

Nothing random.
Everything intentional.

Building a Brand on a Budget

Since this is my first market, I’ve been very mindful about how I’m spending.

Instead of going all-in on expensive displays and materials, I’m:

  • testing different products and vendors

  • trying out packaging ideas

  • experimenting with signage and setup

Some things are simple. Some things are a little scrappy.

But everything is part of the process...and every choice is helping shape what Hippie Stitches will become.

“Shopping My House” for the Perfect Touches

One of my favorite parts of prepping has been realizing how much I already had.

Before buying new display pieces, I went through my home and gathered:

  • thrifted bowls

  • rustic decor

  • little odds and ends I’ve collected over time

These pieces are now part of the booth: holding products, adding texture, and creating that layered, lived-in look that fits the brand so well.

It’s proof that you don’t need to start from scratch to create something beautiful.

The Look: Rustic, Boho, and a Little Western

The overall vibe of the booth is very intentional.

Think:

  • warm neutrals

  • turquoise accents

  • natural textures

  • a hint of rustic charm

I’ve kept my colors and fonts consistent across everything - from packaging to signage - so that it all feels cohesive, even if every piece isn’t a perfect match.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about perfection.
It’s about creating a space that feels inviting and true to the brand.

The Little Details That Make It Special

Some of my favorite elements are the smallest ones:

  • hand-stamped jewelry cards

  • soft drawstring bags for special pieces

  • simple, rustic display tags

  • fun signage with a little personality

You might even see a few playful touches like:

  • “Pay here, darling”

  • “Y’all come back”

Because shopping should feel fun, not formal.

Creating an Inviting Space

I’ve been thinking a lot about how the booth will feel when you walk up to it.

I don’t just want a table full of products.

I want a space that feels like you can step into it.

Something warm.
Something welcoming.
Something that makes you want to stay a minute and look around.

(And yes… there may be a “Howdy, honey” moment involved )

Learning as I Go

This first market is a starting point.

It’s where I’ll learn:

  • what catches your eye

  • what you love

  • what works, and what doesn’t

And I’m so excited to keep building from there!
